This course is designed to introduce shooters to the fundamentals of operating a rifle in low-light environments. Students will learn how the biomechanics of the eye dictate white light employment techniques during navigation, searching, and positive identification use cases. Students will learn various principles and techniques related to handheld and weapon-mounted light employment.

 

Pre-Req: Defensive Rifle Course, Advanced Defensive Rifle Course.

  • Weapon Mounted Switch Placement and Activation Practices
  • Low Light Manipulation, Reloads, and Malfunctions

 

Required Equipment:

  • Rifle (semi-automatic, auto-loading. No lever action, bolt action, or pump action rifles.)
  • 200 Rounds of Ammunition
  • Weapon Mounted Light
  • Handheld Tactical Light (we recommend a light with a lanyard or a retention ring, such as Thyrm products)
  • Holster (OWB)
  • 3 magazines (course is structured around 15 round magazines, if your magazines don’t hold at least 15 rounds, please bring enough magazines to have at least 45 rounds loaded at one time)
  • 2 magazines holders
  • Headlamp
  • Eye pro
  • Ear pro (electronic preferred but not required)
  • Outdoor/Hiking shoes
  • Sturdy belt capable of holding pistol magazine holders and holster.
  • Snacks and drinks

 

Instructors:

Gravitas Protection Group instructors are Special Operations veterans with years of real world, training, and instructional experience.
